WCAG 2 proposed changes (feedback due by
714 July) was only item on the agenda for the Tuesday AGWG call before subgroup breakouts. No significant discussion on the AG call. The eight items are listed below but were not addressed on our call as a set. Several are light on thumbs up, so please considering adding your. -
CFC - WCAG 2.2 and 2.1 errata successfully concluded Thursday 26th. Errata will only be listed on the errata pages until there is a re-publication of WCAG 2.1/2.2.
- Add new errata to both 2.1 and 2.2 #4370 now cleanly shows just the relevant commits for the CFC.
- Backport June 2025 errata to 2.1 #4470 addresses earlier approved errata.
- Per agenda email, our usual agenda.

Briefly discussed Add links to Understanding of SC 2.4.2 (Page Titled) #1025 as change seems find, but its not the change originally in PR, nor in the associated issue. Left in For Discussion. Flagged for Monday TF facilitators call, as we might want to have informal policy about such situations in the wiki.
-
Briefly discussion on "Web" to "web", "Success criteria" to "success criteria" #4428 on a couple uses of uppercase and flagged "web fonts" as part of title of citied article. Also use (or not) of colon and domain name in MSDN link text. Left in For Discussion. Flagged for Monday TF facilitators call, as we might want to have informal guidance about link text in the wiki.

Noted that several relatively straightforward items Sent for WG Approval have few thumbs up but are technically straightforward editorial which we have reviewed on calls before. Some of them involve a large number of files, which not doubt makes them seem intimidating for many AGWG participants. Please considering taking a look and adding thumbs up or review (with feedback).
There was a short pause before the group tackled Drafted, asking if anyone wished for input on To Do or In Progress work.
Quickly discussed Correct link in Resize Text SC #4489 which had an incorrect cross reference. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Briefly discussed Technique ARIA14: Replacing “invisible label” with “accessible name” #4482 which needs a volunteer to review. It is hard to isolate changes. Ken generated a diff link to help. Flagged for Monday TF facilitators call to ask if a TIDY pass (or similar) could be incorporated into the build process. Currently, whitespace changes mask actual edits when the "hide whitespace" function is used. Also, W3C HTML Diff service warrants a reminder to group and mention in the wiki.
Flagged G224: fix missing close parenthesis #4474 as typo. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Brief discussion of H98 Remove HTML 5.2 #4476 which deletes "5.2" part of the reference. Previously we decided to reference to evergreen living standard. Francis noted that Andrew Kirkpatrick recommended against removing references to HTML 5.2 back in 2022. Edit finessed and Moved to Ready for Approval.
Brief discussion on Reformat T1, T2, T3 and suppress highlight.js #4475 which adds some manually coding so that use of PRE
code does not get inappropriate highlighting added to HTML code example. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Briefly discussed Tweak language around modal dialogs #4381 and Patrick incorporate a change suggested on call. Moved to Ready for approval.
Briefly discussed Update README.md #4465 which is a small edit to remove 2016 writen as being the present tense. Left in Drafted and Flagged for Monday TF facilitators call. 2016
Briefly discussed Use "color vision deficiency" instead of "colorblindness" #4472 continuing Patrick's work on changing "color blindness" to color vision deficiency. This PR might not get them all, but is a straightforward improvement. Moved to Ready for Approval
Discussed Tweak C39 and add new matching SCR40 #4404 which was discussed on a call previously. Ken has provided feedback since then. Since we were short on time, we kept in Drafted.
For Monday call
- practice/policy for rewriting PR?
- Style guide address, for example, MSDN domain citation and use of colon? Maybe add some guidance on how descriptive should link text be?
- Doublecheck on lowercase/uppercase for success criteria used in prose or as part of a list. Also, bruce thinks we may have missed a "success Criteria" which either needs S in uppercase or C to be lowercase.
- Request for automated lint rule? It would cause thousands of build conflicts and may be more trouble than its worth. OTOH, it might facilitate more contributions written in Markdown.
- Add instructions for use of HTML Diff tool for TF members?
- Read.me file needs updating, but maybe it should mostly just point elsewhere?
These were not directly addressed during our backlog call. Feedback from AGWG initially requested by July 7th and open for discussion on AG call July 8th where feedback date postponed to July 14th.
The following outlines the updates proposed and implemented by the WCAG 2 Issues task force, providing a two-week window for Working Group members to review non-normative WCAG 2 updates, and consists of changes in several categories.
In addition to the non-normative changes in the sections below, the Task Force has identified a normative change for the Working Group. If the working group members are in general agreement during this review period, it will be queued for a CFC process for publication at a later time.
- Editorial (Normative): "Web" to "web", harmonise when SC is upper or lowercase #4461
- Replace archaic-looking "e-mail" with "email" #4385
Changes that do not meaningfully alter informative language in a normative document.
- Fix note structure in abbreviation definition #4452
Changes that meaningfully add or alter existing non-normative guidance.
None this cycle.
Small improvements to language intended to clarify existing guidance.
- Add note to 1.3.5 Identify Input Purpose about "input" not just meaning HTML input element #4384
- "Web" to "web", "Success criteria" to "success criteria" #4428
- Replace mentions of "WCAG 2.0" with "WCAG 2" #4387
- Correct F99 - keyCode is not an attribute #4374
Response-only items for which we are not going to create a PR.
None this cycle.
These are trivial editorial corrections such as typos and broken links.
- Chore: Remove invalid closing and , self-closing slashes, xml:lang and xmlns #4386
