@anandkaranubc Do we really need to convert nc and f to float here? The double-precision implementation seems to be alright with them as integers. Also, whether we convert them to float or not, res would still be a float, right?

Yes, the result won't change. I just did an explicit type casting instead of relying on the implicit one.

It's fine to leave the explicit type casts in, as a reminder that int32 to float can be lossy.
