Summary

This PR removes a folder whose name ends with a space (extracted_invoice_json ), which causes an error during git clone:

error: invalid path 'examples/data/hotel_invoices/extracted_invoice_json /20190119_002_extracted.json '
fatal: unable to checkout working tree

This fixes the checkout failure and ensures the repository can be cloned successfully.

Motivation

A folder name ending with a space is not supported by many filesystems (e.g., NTFS on Windows), leading to fatal errors when cloning the repository. Removing or renaming the folder resolves this issue and improves cross-platform compatibility. This change also addresses issue #1837.

The deletion only affects the malformed folder with a trailing space. A valid data folder examples/data/hotel_invoices/extracted_invoice_json remains intact(containing the exact same content as the deleted folder), ensuring that the only script relying on it examples/Data_extraction_transformation.ipynb continues to function correctly.

For new content

When contributing new content, read through our contribution guidelines, and mark the following action items as completed:

  • I have added a new entry in registry.yaml (and, optionally, in authors.yaml) so that my content renders on the cookbook website.
(This PR fixes repository cloning issues by removing an invalid folder. No new content or examples are added, so updating registry.yaml or authors.yaml is not applicable.)
  • I have conducted a self-review of my content based on the contribution guidelines:
    • Relevance: This content is related to building with OpenAI technologies and is useful to others.
    • Uniqueness: I have searched for related examples in the OpenAI Cookbook, and verified that my content offers new insights or unique information compared to existing documentation.
    • Spelling and Grammar: I have checked for spelling or grammatical mistakes.
    • Clarity: I have done a final read-through and verified that my submission is well-organized and easy to understand.
    • Correctness: The information I include is correct and all of my code executes successfully.
    • Completeness: I have explained everything fully, including all necessary references and citations.

We will rate each of these areas on a scale from 1 to 4, and will only accept contributions that score 3 or higher on all areas. Refer to our contribution guidelines for more details.

This folder ends with a space, which cause an error when use the git clone commend.
