Combined highlights for .NET MAUI, .NET for Android, and .NET for iOS, Mac Catalyst, macOS, and tvOS: CollectionView2 on Windows, handler-based Shell on Android, Compatibility package removal, AOT-safe HybridWebView, Geolocation minimum-distance filter, a reliability wave, the AndroidMessageHandler HTTP-contract work, and the Apple platform toolchain and NSUrlSessionHandler updates. Looks good to me overall; approving. A few Preview 6 items could still be added if you want the MAUI notes to be a bit more complete:
- dotnet/maui#35455: Android MediaPicker result recovery APIs.
- dotnet/maui#35987: IPermissions / Permissions.Current testability update; this one is labeled breaking, so it may be worth at least verifying whether it needs a note.
- dotnet/maui#35717: HybridWebView Android message filtering, separate from the AOT-safe source generator work.
- dotnet/maui#35922: XAML C# expression source generator fix for static type references like Colors., DateTime., and Math.*.
- dotnet/android#11700 and dotnet/android#11709: user-visible Android build diagnostics/behavior for legacy AndroidEnvironment resources and bad library ProGuard files.
I checked these against the blessed Preview 6 pins rather than just the mutable release branches, so they should be in the Preview 6 build. Also worth considering exact pinned-SHA compare links instead of branch compare links, since the release branches can move after the blessed build.
