since pre-commit kicks in on PRs, I could drop this workflow -- you would just loose annotation of lines where typos were introduced by the codespell-project/codespell-problem-matcher@v1

I personally introduced it to dozens if not hundreds of projects already and so far only positive feedback.
CI workflow has 'permissions' set only to 'read' so also should be safe.
