Biological Physics

This is the repository for Dr. Kinder's biophysics course.

If you are taking the course, you should fork this repository. You will be able to edit the files in your own fork, but not the files in this repository.

Each week, there will be a new folder with Jupyter notebooks, data sets, and code samples. Update your fork to bring the new content in each week. Be sure to commit your work by the due date.

Week 1

The assigned coding problems for this week are 1.2 and 1.5. Please do your work in these notebooks.

Week 2

The assigned coding problems for this week are 3.2 and 3.4. Please do your work in these notebooks. You should also work through Computer Lab 1 (Chapter 5) of A Student's Guide to Python. You can store your work in the Jupyter notebook, or write a script to complete the assignment. If you write a script, save it in the week-02/ folder.

Week 3

No new coding assignment.

Week 4

Work through Parts 1 and 2 of Computer Lab 2 (Chapter 7) in A Student's Guide to Python. You can store your work in the Jupyter notebook, or write a script to complete the assignment. If you write a script, save it in the week-04/ folder.

Week 5

Work through Part 3 of Computer Lab 2 (Chapter 7) in A Student's Guide to Python. You can store your work in the Jupyter notebook, or write a script to complete the assignment. If you write a script, save it in the week-05/ folder.

Work through the rest of this week's problems in their associated Jupyter notebooks:

  • computer-lab-2.ipynb
  • problem-5.7.ipynb
  • problem-5.11.ipynb
  • problem-5.17.ipynb
  • problem-5.24.ipynb

Week 6

Work through Computer Lab 3 (Chapter 9) in A Student's Guide to Python. You can store your work in the Jupyter notebook, or write a script to complete the assignment. If you write a script, save it in the week-06/ folder.

Work through the rest of this week's problems in their associated Jupyter notebooks:

  • computer-lab-3.ipynb
  • problem-7.3.ipynb
  • problem-7.8.ipynb
  • problem-7.11.ipynb

Week 7

Work through this week's problems in their associated Jupyter notebooks, or write a separate script to solve each problem.

  • problem-10.3.ipynb
  • problem-10.5.ipynb
  • problem-10.8.ipynb
  • problem-10.9.ipynb
  • problem-10.2.ipynb
  • problem-10.12.ipynb

Week 8

  • problem-11.2.ipynb
  • problem-11.5.ipynb
  • problem-11.6.ipynb
  • problem-11.8.ipynb

Week 9

Work through this week's problems in their associated Jupyter notebooks, or write a separate script to solve each problem.

  • problem-12.5.ipynb
  • problem-12.6.ipynb
  • problem-12.7.ipynb
  • problem-12.9.ipynb

Week 10

Work through this week's problems in their associated Jupyter notebooks, or write a separate script to solve each problem.
