Activity Log: Add Filter to the Activity Log History

Would it be possible to add filters to the activity log?

Context:

A user asked if we could remove the plugin update notifications from the activity log. When I dug into this I noticed that in Calypso you do have the option to be able to choose which activities you want to see, but it is not currently possible in the WordPress app.
