Hello Jamie!

Since milter-greylist being abandoned, I believe we should consider an alternative tool. What do you think about postfwd? It's written in Perl, available in all repos, and seems to integrate just fine with Postfix.

Sure, that seems reasonable. Does it have all the same functionality though?

postfwd is very flexible, but it’s not a direct one-to-one replacement. I haven’t dug deep, but it looks like it can mimic greylisting and do much more. However, we’ll need to manually configure it to replicate all the behavior that milter-greylist provided out of the box...

Would you mind providing some reference / clarification on the abandonment of milter-greylist?

I saw this while looking into an issue with the milter service and it has me thinking I should just save myself the trouble and start looking at the alternatives instead...

Thanks

Yes, please see this:

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/milter-greylist

It is only available in the testing repository and cannot be installed in a standard installation.

off-topic is https://www.rspamd.com/ an alternative that should be considered as this i think has a greylist in it.
