Questions about Integrating into MessageFormat 2.0 for GSoC

Hi, I’m interested in this project! I’m curious about the proposed role of Inflection in MessageFormat 2.0. From my understanding, MessageFormat is a model for easily localizing strings and messages. A translator would provide the proper localization for strings which can be ordered correctly in MessageFormat. I’m assuming that the translator would also provide the proper inflections. If Inflection is integrated into MessageFormat, would it function more or less as an “autocorrect”, for lack of a better term?

For example, taking the English example in the idea prompt, a translator would provide: The {object} is on, for the case where {object} is singular.

If Inflection were available, would the translator just provide: The {object : inflect} on
Thus automatically inserting the proper inflection without needing to include the verb? Then Inflection would provide the correct verb depending on if {object} was plural (is or are)? Would Inflection also check if the proper Inflection was used for existing translations like my first example?

On the integration side, is the idea to introduce Inflection as a dependency for MessageFormat 2.0? Should it be fully integrated or only used when available as a package? Are there any other places in Unicode where Inflection is already used as a dependency or integrated? Thanks!
