Did this on side project.
I am currently always looking up the PID in the registry. In the Meetup it was suggested to handle this differently. May be worth seeing how people do this in the wild and write up what seems like best practices.
Maybe in the same post or as a follow-up, it could be good to show how it handles error cases and crashing.
