TinyGoOS: Is TinyGo an operating system?

Depends on your definition of an OS, I guess.
The TinyGo scheduler works a lot like the scheduler in a RTOS for example, using a similar mechanism to allocate and switch between "tasks" (goroutines). But it doesn't currently allow starting any tasks that aren't part of the program. So it may function internally like a mini-OS, but it's not very relevant since it can't be used to start any new process in an arbitrary language.

The same is true for the standard Go runtime, by the way.

https://github.com/orgs/tinygo-org/tinygo is the project! The discussion is aimed at programs compiled for embedded systems, such as when compiling with -target=pico flag. i.e: tinygo flash -target=pico main.go

Firm real-time operating systems typically require meeting deadlines, but they can tolerate occasional delays without causing significant issues. So, based on that definition, I'd say Tinygo is a Firm RTOS
