Deprecation Warning for Platypus

Hi,

When installing or upgrading Platypus via Homebrew, I’m seeing the following warning:

Warning: platypus has been deprecated! It will be disabled on 2026-09-01.
==> Downloading https://sveinbjorn.org/files/software/platypus/platypus5.4.1.zip

I’m not sure if this deprecation notice is coming from Homebrew itself (meaning the formula is being deprecated) or if it reflects the upstream project status (i.e., Platypus itself is being discontinued).

Could you clarify whether:

• Platypus is still actively maintained upstream, and this is just a Homebrew formula decision, or
• The project itself is considered deprecated and nearing end-of-life?

This will help users understand whether we should be looking for alternatives or simply expect changes in how Homebrew handles the package.

This is all Homebrew. The project is not discontinued. I have not maintained Platypus' Homebrew status myself over the years. I'll take a look at what I can do.
