Using multiple directories simultaneously?

Hello,

is it possible to use multiple directories simultaneously? I would like to use the information stored in an LDAP directory (which works fine) but also create another class of email accounts in an internal directory.
I tried to add an internal directory but switching to that directory then disabled login for all LDAP accounts. It also seems to be impossible to select a target directory when creating new users in the web interface.
Essentially something like multiple virtual_mailbox_maps in postfix or multiple passdb / userdb entries in dovecot.

Hi, this is possible in the SMTP server but the JMAP/IMAP servers only support one directory.
