This is a great note, but to some extent I question the basic premise of producing a pdf or whatever as opposed to emailing out a weblink together with all the web technology such as lighthouse etc that you can get for a webpage.

I have found Quarto excellent for running my web site and appreciate that notes or posts can be sent as word documents for another site to republish as web pages, go figure. Still I think we need to get away from the concepts of books and pdfs and see the web as the prime content target. That way we get responsive content etc. At least that is my 2centts
