Option for inverted shift behavior

Surprised I couldn't find an option to have vomnibar open links in new tabs by default and use current tab with shift.
Personally this option would make my workflow quite a bit more ergonomic.

Has this idea been discussed already and shot down, or should this be implemented as a misc. option?

You can literally just change your mappings to suit your needs. Just swap the commands for o / O, b / B as you see fit.

P.S.:
In the Vimium options to the right of the "Custom key mappings" text area, you can use "Show available commands" to see current bindings and their available commands that you need to specify when creating custom key mappings.
