• Currently, it looks like html minifcation is not worth it, since the savings after gzipping are only a few percent Minifier Revisited
• The minification time is large, often over 100ms in many cases, whereas gzipping takes usually a few milliseconds
• stdlib HTMLParser unescapes html, such that output can be a XXS vulnerability
• lxml.html.fragments_fromstring also parses html inside script tags, which is not desired
• lxml.html.fromstring does not parse html inside script tags, but does not parse html fragments
