Thank you for reworking the issue to mitigate the problem. Took a minute to understand the situation thinking the problem was plug-in execution specific, not as reported a problem with Zen Cart functionality/restrictions of encapsulated plugins.

FYI, while perhaps the error/crash may occur pre-error_logger.php loading, but in ZC 2.1.0, I haven't/hadn't seen a related log with installation via zc_install use. I'll try again to see, but may have gotten updated/resolved between 2.0.x and 2.1.0... Don't recall seeing any issues identified in the repo, though may have silently been corrected... I'm keeping this open until either more occurrences found or verified corrected...
