Extension version/Build date
Version 2 (2025-12-21 14:42:41)
Cinnamon version
6.6.7
Distribution
LMDE 7
Graphics hardware and driver used
Intel Corporation TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]
Extension name and maintainer
compiz-windows-effect@hermes83.github.com @hermes83
What happened?
When I connect an external display to my system, the overall desktop effects performance becomes slow, way below 60 fps. The moment I disconnect the external display, performance restores back to 60 fps (as expected on my 60Hz main display).
While trying to figure out what the issue is (Form discussion link here), I found that this extension might be the culprit for such slow performance.
Same thing happens when using the similar wobbly-windows@mecheye.net extension.
This happens when running on X11, this does not happen when running on Wayland but as this one is still considered experimental on Cinnamon, won't be daily using it.
