Looks like I forgot to hit send. TLDR: probably just user error, my bad. original message as follows I *thought* there was, I was thinking my screensaver/ screen turning off when not in use didn't ever engage unless I manually did "xset dpms 600 600 600" or similar after each restart, BUT I remember my screen being off this morning when I woke up and I don't think I had run that command after last restart/login. This may be a case of PEBCAK, in which case I apologize for wasting your time, as that was not my intent. Although I did do some stuff yesterday, so that might have fixed it, although if it did fix, it is fixed because I had done something stupid before and there wasn't a bug.
