Today all patch cables are mono cables.
When changing stereo patch cable routing I have two problems
One inlet can have a lot of cables (i.e the inlet to the audio main out)
Two cables per source have to be rerouted instead of one
It is easy to, by mistake, cross-connect L and R channels
The patch cables will soon enough become alarmingly numerous and "clutter" the graph
In the rough idea below, I suggest that the audio patch cables are always shown as one cable with the following characteristics:
The outlets and inlets are of type Stereo or Mono and are labelled with a small S or M inside the box
M -> M: When you are close to an inlet it would be good to show the inlet name so you are sure of the selected inlet
(valid for all connection types)
M -> S: When you are close to the S inlet, expand it to both L and R so I can select one of them.
Label the end of the patch cable with a small L or R as chosen
S -> M: When you are close to the M inlet, expand the stereo cable to both L and R so I can select one of them.
Label the end of the patch cable with a small L or R as chosen
S-> S: As today
Even if the implementation will take time, I would appreciate a short answer of type
