Word highlight don't follow text during tts

I use opt+esc (on Macbook Air) to start the tts.

Please try with hotkey option+esc to start the tts.

Hm opt-esc does not start tts on my macbook (and it is a fairly standard config)

It is the standard tts hotkey but tts may need to be turned on.

I tried to track down what MacOS tts is highlighting but failed. You properly need some web dev expert to look at this.
