• Hi everyone, super new to maps in general however learnt about mbtiles and pmtiles and rendering with map libre gl js. However my question is related to information and vector tiles.

1. how big can mbtiles be?
2. plus all these files are stored and connected how?
3. for each map scale (zoom level) we have vectors created yeah, are we do is serve them?

• I'm trying to understand more if we can store this small files in hypercore (append only log) and try to serve in P2P fashion. We could store the only tiles that user requested on their end. Just something i'm trying to learn on the side.

@hyperknot I have been able to serve pmtiles in P2P fashion thanks to hypercore( users only need to download the tiles based on z,x,y and they serve those tiles).

I had a question on openfreemap and how it does serve the tiles, what if we have a way to serve openfreemap's tiles this way? Now I don't much how tiles are served currently and is it just one single static file or not
