Hi everyone,

I’m exploring options to use Trino as a data source with Hasura v2 and wanted to check whether this integration is possible.

From the documentation, it appears that Hasura v2 primarily supports databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc. as native sources. However, I’m interested in understanding if there is any supported or recommended approach to query data through Trino using Hasura v2.

My questions are:

1. Is there any native or supported way to connect Hasura v2 to Trino as a data source?
2. If not, are there any workarounds such as:

• using remote schemas
• creating a middleware service
• exposing Trino queries through another database layer

3. Has anyone successfully used Hasura v2 with Trino in production or experimentation?

Any guidance or suggested patterns would be appreciated.

Hi @akashmandal861

1. Hasura v2 does not natively support Trino. Hasura DDN (v3) supports Trino via native connector.
2. Hasura action is recommended if you only need to implement specific queries or business logics. You can use an API server with any programming language that supports Trino driver.
