Notification/Indication return code: 6

What does the error message "Notification/Indication return code: 6" actually mean?

Are there any general directions to find the root cause / prevent occurrence of the error?

EDIT: I created the message text myself, the 6 is the number returned by:

This code could be a number of things, it depends on the context. In the OP the context is from the core codes:

Thanks! I get the code via onStatus, and that was probably triggered by a notify().

Given the info behind your link code 0x06 probably means: BLE_HS_ENOMEM | Operation failed due to resource exhaustion.
Which is quite puzzling for me. The doc also states:

The precise meaning of each of these error codes depends on the function that returns it. 
The API reference for a particular function indicates the conditions under which each of these codes are returned.

but unfortunately that info is hard to find for me.

This usually means that too many notifications have been queued without actually being sent yet so you need to slow down the rate of sending notificaitons.
