Why does it fail to compile on AArch64 Linux?

Compilation of GDAL and gdal-sys was successful, but when compiling my own code, I get the
error:
note: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdal.

GDAL is a C library, you'll need to install it (e.g. using brew) or use the upcoming bundled feature (which is very limited).
