Identifier not showing in record history

Hey Normand! The Instance column was blank...all other columns were working properly. I went ahead and deleted the Identifier field and recreated it, but now that column is no showing up at all (before it was just blank).

When you delete a field form a table, it will delete it everywhere (in all views) in your app.

This can be seen as something very dangerous at first. But in fact, this behavior is beneficial otherwise you'd have to delete all instances in all views.

Here, in your case, what you need to do is go back in the views and add the new "replacement" field.

BTW, instead of deleting the field, all you had to do is change the formula to have only basic a-z A-Z characters, as a first test.

Sorry, I got confused. The Identifier field is a short text and that's good. Just re-add it in the View Record History grid.
But that doesn't explain why the value is not set.

I think I found it, and it could be something I forgot to mention in the documentation.
Your Identifier field must be part of the view where the _arh keyword is used.
If it's a form and you don't want to edit it, then set it to read-only.
If it's a grid (rec hist for inline editing), then add a column somewhere. You can always hide it if you don't want to see it with _hc.

Add the field here, in the form where the _arh is used:

Also, if you to capture inline edits for the grid, you add _arh in the grid also.

After we had our Zoom meeting, I realized that the Text Formula field type is not supported if it's the Display Field. I was sure it was, but it's not.

I'll have to come up with a solution to that. Probably using a Details view in the page and read the value from there.

I'll try that when I'm back from vacation :)
