`2.8.1` REGEXP_LIKE syntax is incorrect, given database is Azure SQL Server / MS SQL

We are receiving an error after upgrading to 2.8.1: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'REGEXP_LIKE'. (156) (SQLExecDirectW)")

We are using AZURE SQL SERVER / MS SQL. We have already upgraded the compatibility level to 170 as noted in their docs.
