"Simple" can mean very different things depending on your point of view. Can you give some examples of the kind of thing you have in mind, where those languages have a simpler/more concise/etc. syntax than their predecessors? Do you have any examples in mind where you think Carbon is missing an opportunity to improve on C++? For what it's worth, we're planning to take a holistic look at Carbon's syntax once the language is more complete and we have substantial user experience to draw on. In order to reach that point as soon as we can, in the meantime we're trying to avoid reopening syntax decisions we've already made. |
