Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open one of your logins
  2. Tap the edit (pencil) icon
  3. Next to Password, tap the generate password (two arrows circling an asterisk) icon
  4. Tap "Yes" when asked about overwriting the current password
  5. Hit "Save"
  6. Hit the close (X) icon on the Edit login screen (not "Save")
  7. See that the new password has not been saved

Expected Result

This button should have different text on it to avoid giving the user the impression that it saves the new password. The browser extension puts the text "Use this password" on its version of this button, which is much more appropriate. "Use", "Choose", "Select", or "Confirm" would also work. Please make it clearer that the "Save" button that a user actually needs to hit is the one on the Edit login screen.

Actual Result

I have been locked out of multiple accounts because the new password I chose was not saved when I pressed the "Save" button.

Issue Tracking Info

  • I understand that work is tracked outside of Github. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.
