Android Studio build axmol project became very slow with unknown reason.

As title, my project work normally before 2 week ago, it build all take 5 ~ 7 minute with a single abi,
but, recently it suddenly became slow, it look like compile the source file one by one, not in parallel.
when i check the CPU usage, it not in 100%, and it just look used 5~10% ,[My PC have 24 cores]

same project work very fine in MSVC or Xcode, except Android Studio.

the build speed too slow, it take more 5x slower then before. i didn't change any setting, did anyone have same experience

i tested this all in same PC:
Ladybug | 2024.2.1
Koala | 2024.1.2
Jellyfish | 2023.3.1

It seems nothing to do with the version.
i also try different version of :
CMake 3.30.5 ~ 3.22.1,
NDK version 28.0 ~ 25.2,
AGP 8.4.2 ~ 8.7.0
Gradle: 8.7 ~ 8.10.2
with multiple combination still also same. even i use command "gradlew.bat build" also same

The strange thing is, if i move the project to the new clear (just install Android Studio) windows to run, it is perfect and nothing slow.

So I suspect there are any parameter settings that can make Android Studio slow down.

I've also tried this setting:
CMAKE_BUILD_PARALLEL_LEVEL=24 ,
NINJA_OPTIONS=-j24
but doesn't work.

If anyone know someting, please help me.
by now, if i need to release a APK, it will spend almost 3 hour to build.😥

Have you tested it after deleting the generated folders? If not, delete the following folders, then re-open the project in Android Studio and see how that goes:

proj.android/.gradle
proj.android/.idea
proj.android/app/.cxx
proj.android/app/build

Also, check the info here to enable verbose logging during build. Check the settings it is using during build, and hopefully that should show the source of the problem.

I removed these directory multiple time, and also called "Invalidate Cache" in Android Studio.
futher more, i uninstall the Android Studio too, remove all the directory relate the Android Studio.

i just try "--info --stacktrace --debug" in gradle build, nothing strange infomation discover.

just tried, result is same, I thought my CPU or RAM or HD was broken, but when using MSVC is normal and perfect,

Using Android Studio 2024.1.1, with a relatively large project (~1400 source files in project, and another 4000 or so in 3rd party libraries), and I cannot reproduce the problem at all.

Does this happen when compiling the cpp-tests project?

i tried the cpp-tests project, using Android Studio 2024.1.2, same as slow, not using full of CPU.

you can see the CPU indicator showing no using full of loading. RAM is enought, HD is not busy.

😢3 week ago the same computer, same software is fully normal..

Do you have another computer to test this on? If you do, test your project on there. If it works on the other computer, then you know that something is wrong with your PC or development environment.

You could also go the last resort route and wipe the PC and re-install the OS etc...
