type_string()/tap_key() doesn't work on the Red Hat 4.1.2-55

I wanted to use the type_string()/tap_key() function to enter some characters on the Red Hat 4.1.2-55, but it didn't work and didn't print any errors. Has anyone encountered similar problems? I hope you can provide me with some help, I appreciate it very much
