Extent of support for OpenCL kernel debugging?

The documentation of rocgdb has some conflicting information regarding the support of OpenCL debugging. I have attached the screenshots regarding those. When I tried debugging an OpenCL kernel using rocgdb, there was no debugging support beyond the halting of the kernel while setting a breakpoint at the beginning of the kernel. Hence, I need some specific information regarding the support for OpenCL kernel debugging using rocgdb.

Hi,

ROCgdb (as a downstream of GDB) has some generic knowledge of the OpenCL language (such as vector types). However, as mentioned in the "AMD ROCm Source Languages" sections, support for debugging OpenCL code running on AMD GPU is limited.

Please see #142 (comment) for a further discussion on the limitations.

For now, I would suggest setting the following environment variables to help enable source level debugging of OpenCL: AMD_OCL_BUILD_OPTIONS_APPEND="-O0 -g" AMD_COMGR_SAVE_TEMPS=1 AMD_COMGR_SAVE_LLVM_TEMPS=1.
