Does Gittyup support git submodules?

As an example, if I modify a submodule, shall it commit the changes to the submodule's repository, as this Stack Overflow answer describes?

A submodule is its own repo/work-area, with its own .git directory.

So, first commit/push your submodule's changes:

$ cd path/to/submodule
$ git add <stuff>
$ git commit -m "comment"
$ git push

Then, update your main project to track the updated version of the submodule:

$ cd /main/project
$ git add path/to/submodule
$ git commit -m "updated my submodule"
$ git push

It does. Adding one to a repository already managed by Gittyup and then using Gittyup to commit the change appeared to break the repository, but adding it via git submodule add "$repository", committing the initial addition via git add -A && git commit -a --allow-empty-message -m '' now allows Gittyup to commit changes to the repository without issue.
