For me the gui window wont even open even if I restart the process. Dont know why usually it opens right at startup

Have you tried cleaning one memory area at a time and seeing which one is causing the crash? Once you identify the memory area, you can skip it to preserve system stability. However, it might optimize a smaller amount of memory. You can also see if there is any process crashing and add it to an exclusion list. Try these approaches and let me know the results.

While the system tray froze, I clicked the tray, checked the Event Viewer and found:

I am unsure if the crash came after a new Windows update, but before the GUI window would normally be open at startup.
The only thing that works is force ending the process & disabling the registry file and then you can open it only once.
Haven't tried to look for what options are causing it specifically, but maybe it will help.

Just a small suggestion, idk if there is any search function the processes you want to, but a small search bar would be mighty helpful, navigation with my touchpad seemed either to fast or to slow while searching for certain processes.

This is helpful. There's something not handling well with this system notification tray icon. The app runs on a legacy framework to support legacy Windows, which is not fully optimized for newer Windows versions. I am about to release a new version with some pending fixes and enhancements. I will try to improve the piece of code that might be causing this behavior. It's tricky to simulate, but with more users and reports, it helps identify it.

Even Windows gets unstable after some updates, but I'd rather believe the code can always be improved than blame Windows.

GUI improvements are a bit limited because the app runs on a legacy framework that doesn't provide the same resources as newer ones. The only way is to implement it manually. I will check if it can be improved with a search bar on top of the dropdown when opened.

I will try to disable the registry cache option, maybe this causes it, because when I delete the registry cache of win mem it's works again, I don't know how the program works exactly, but I will say if it starts reliably after

This is happening to me too, with it freezing. It started happening 1-2 months ago even though I've used Windows Memory Cleaner for much longer than that. Everything has been the same on my Windows 11 desktop except a new monitor that I have go to sleep much more often because it's OLED and Wallpaper Engine.
