Mixed Mode demo scene unwanted resizes

the scene containing the rotating laptop is rendered 3-4x taller than needed on my iPad Mini with the latest iOS. 

scrolling seems to cause resizes of the scene area.

EDIT: actually it's resizing itself (seemingly) randomly a couple of times even without scrolling.
