ebook2audiobook is under apache 2.0 License: Sell software that includes or is based on Apache 2.0-licensed code Offer paid support, cloud hosting, custom versions, or additional proprietary modules around your Apache 2.0-licensed software Bundle the software as part of a commercial SaaS offering Key Requirements and Restrictions Preserve the license: You must include a copy of the Apache 2.0 license and a NOTICE file (if one exists) with your distribution. State changes: If you modify the original code, you must state what you changed. No trademark rights: The license does not grant you rights to use the original project's trademarks, logo, or brand. No warranty: The software comes "as-is" without warranty. coqui-tts is under MIT LIcense: Here’s what you need to know (in plain terms): You Can Sell Your Software/Service: You can use MIT-licensed code as part of a paid software product, SaaS offering, mobile app, consulting service, or any other revenue-generating activity. Requirements: Include the License: The main requirement is that you must include the original MIT license and copyright notice with any substantial portion of the software that you distribute (for example, in your app, service, or any redistributable code). No Warranty: The license makes clear there’s no warranty, which means you and the original authors aren’t responsible for issues that come up. Example use-cases: Sell desktop software or mobile apps that include MIT-licensed code. Offer consulting/services based on MIT-licensed code. However, as you know we are all volunteers here and certainly need some donations to spend our time to offer the best application possible. |

Actually the Coqui xtts license is in a limbo state The coquitts (owners of xtts) company is dissolved so there is no way to gain a commercial license Furthermore, if you are using voice-cloning for profit then you could need the permission of the person owning the voice you are cloning. In addition commercial Licensing of use of any of the models depends on how the creators of the specific tts models have published the licensing. Details: You can refer to this page for details on licensing of specific tts engines. |

Thanks. The person I am cloning is me, so that part is covered 🙂
My primary intent of the podcast is not generate revenue but it is possible for someone to donate or because of monetization on rumble. I am just trying to use AI to do some of the work form me on my own site but the license thing is throwing me for a loop.
I guess I have to look at all of the possible models you are using and make sure I select the ones that don't have the non-commercial limits.

Thanks for the list. I assume those license listed are for the models as well as the application that use them.
I will take a closer look at things a little later today.
Thank you both again for the guidance. I am going to install the ebook2audio and see if it does what I am looking for.

I have a question about license in regard to producing content and including in a podcast. I do a teaching/training type podcast and at times I put up long texts and read through them. I am thinking to use an AI to clone my voice and use text from my script or external text so I don't have to record, edit, etc. myself .
As I look at many of the models they talk about non-commercial use. My podcast is monetized but it is very small and really has not generated any revenue. They day may come when it does and I am concerned that I will be in violation of that non-commercial part because I am using it on a podcast that may generate revenue at some point
Some say that non-commercial use means getting income from selling/packaging the models with my things but I also see some of them refer to "output from the models" as well
Can someone help me understanding the license thing?
I am looking at ebooks2audio because it can do larger amounts of text more quickly.
Thank you
