Highlight recovery not working (?)

What happened?

I tried to play around with the image from this Lightroom Tutorial. The Highlights slider in Lightroom recovers nicely the overexposed street light. In RapidRaw, it does not work, even with RAW Highlight Recovery set to 10.0.

Could be related to #419 .

What did you expect to happen?

Similar highlight recovery to Lightroom.

Hey, thanks for the report.

Try to increase the Exposure first.

Lightroom auto-brightens your RAW, but RapidRaw doesn't. You need to lift the exposure to push the streetlight into the "highlight" range before the slider can affect it.

That said, my highlight recovery isn't on the same level as Lightroom's yet. For better results with tricky highlights like this, try switching the Tonemapper to AgX. It handles them much more gracefully.

Hm, increasing the exposure first seems to make things worse. AgX seems to make a bit better but not significantly.
