Older Car (2007 and older) support for new Key Fob programming ?

I have a USDM 2007 Impreza 2.5i
Great job guys, my car connects perfectly with an FTDI USB cable and FreeSSM. All other very expensive demo software readers would just throw an invalid baudrate error.
I was able to read and reset codes.

I am trying to program another key fob. The key is not a chip kind. The fob is the kind that should program easily with "10 times Lock to On" method.
However, after spending an hour trying various ways of this method, I couldn't get the car to go into programming mode (indicated by the chirp, OR by lock/unlock key going directly into ECU instead of operating the doors).

Would your tool be able to send a command (maybe in diagnostics mode?) to start programming the new fob ?

Unless it's another controller that's involved. I only see Engine and Transmission for this car on the GUI list.
I can code if source changes are required.
